We contacted Mark, following a referral from some close friends, with respect to completing a second storey extension on our house over garage.
Mark's quote was very competitively priced and covered the complete scope of works as per the Architect's plans without any hidden extras, with a seven week programme too complete the works.
 
After agreeing the start date, Mark went the extra mile to source bricks, that we had previously been informed were obsolete, to ensure a perfect match, as this was an extension on the front of the house the look and finish was important to us.
 
Mark and his colleague Dave started on time, and immediately took care of the cleanliness of the work, the communication was very good and we were kept informed of the progress and the next stages as the build progressed. Mark took care when removing the tiles from the old roof and reused these at the front of the house, to blend the extension into the original property.
 
The work was completed on time and on budget, indeed Mark even assisted in the arrangments for additional works to be completed by the Electrician and Plumber in other areas of the house. The finish was 1st class both inside and outside. Marks brickwork is perfect, in fact it was so good that it showed up the poor brickwork on the original property. This attention to detail has not gone unnoticed, we have had many comments from neighbours and passers by, at how good the extension looks and the fact that blends seamlessly with the original property. We now have 2 extra large bedrooms and a superb interior space with the plastering, door casings and second fit electrical works finished to the highest standards. Mark detected a tiny scratch on one of the new window pains, he notified us immediately and arranged to have it replaced the following day, again evidence of Mark's approach and professionalism.
 
The building inspector visited the works on completion and he was also very complementary. We had no issue getting the works signed off so again this was great.

After getting several quotes for my extension I returned to Mark, not because he was the cheapest (although there wasn't much difference) but because he seemed so honest and trustworthy and could complete the build 3 weeks quicker than other builders.   I didn't think he could actually do the work so quick but I was proved wrong and the quality of his brickwork remained high (even had other workmen round who have commented on it). All in all I can thoroughly recommend Mark and would have no hesitation in using him again.

We have recently employed Mr. Mark Leese and his team to build a First floor bedroom and en-suite extension above our garage, renovate our bathroom,make safe chimney pots, and erect a large area of decking and a veranda. The work has been completed on schedule and to a very high standard.

We engaged Mark Leese Builders Ltd to build a kitchen extension and convert our garage in May 2011. This was an eight week project.

The team arrived on site bright and early and quickly built the shell to our extension. They remained on site until the building part of the work was completed.

Mark employs sub-contractors to carry out various aspects of the build (plumbing, electrics, plastering, and joinery). In the main, this seemed to work well and Mark ensured that the relevant contractors were on site when required.

The team kept a “tidy site” and always made sure that any debris or rubble was tidied away at the end of each day.

Mark ensured that there was as little disruption to normal life as possible. During the second week of our build, he organised for a new boiler to be installed in addition to our existing boiler which meant that we were never really without hot water throughout the whole process.

When we found unforeseen problems during the build (e.g., sewer pipe under where we were supposed to build), solutions were quickly found and corrective action put in place.

We also liked the way that Mark organised and dealt with the building inspector without any issues at all.

On the whole we are very pleased with the work that Mark and his sub-contractors have performed and would definitely recommend them.

When we decided to appoint Mark to do our extension we visited another of Mark’s previous clients, to view his work, they were very happy with the work that he had undertaken.

Mark started on the date discussed and both mark, Dave and the other contractors (plaster, joiner, plumber, tiler arrived on site promptly to undertake the work.

They were always on time, worked hard and kept an extremely tidy site. They were courteous and mindful of both us and the neighbours at all times.

All the hassle that you hear of other people having whilst having an extension was not evident. Mark arranged for the other contractors to be on site when they were needed to be and kept me updated at all times.

Mark has recently completed a kitchen extension and garage conversion for us. Before hiring Mark we went to view some of his most recent projects. The customers confirmed what Mark had told us and were thrilled with the work he had completed. What first struck us about Mark was his extensive knowledge of building control regulations and what we could and couldn't do. Mark advised that the job would take approximately 6 weeks to complete. He explained in detail what was going to happen. Mark will agree that we were very fussy clients and had high expectations. Mark met our expectations. He co-ordinated all the trades throughout the build, all of which were very competent and reliable.

Mark and his team turned up when they said they would, cleaned up at the end of each day and were friendly. Mark was not the cheapest quote we had but also not the most expensive. The quality of the materials he used gave clear indication of value for money. He didn't cut corners in any aspect of the build. It was so nice to deal with someone who was reliable and committed to the job, and this was also the case with every trade he bought in. The job took 5 weeks in total to do, including extras we asked for along the way. I can without doubt recommend Mark and his team.
